The Southpoint name and brand has an affinity to the surfing community. Vanessa and Robert both come from coastal regions of their respective countries, Vanessa from South Africa and Robert from the South coast of England.
Within the sport of surfing a point wave or point-break is a geographic feature that causes a wave to wrap around a headland. The inspiration for the Southpoint ‘S’ shape logo came from an aerial photograph of the famous Rincon point break of California, shown below.

The ‘S’ shape logo also resembles a close up of two interlocking jigsaw pieces, which metaphorically represents a solution to a problem.
Having gained substantial experience working within the Microsoft SharePoint application space, the name Southpoint fitted well for a southern-based company who specialise in SharePoint and related web development technologies.
This is just an example of how Southpoint bring creative thinking to a problem and provide practical solutions. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
